Lynne Bermel

Host Lynne Bermel is a communications specialist, a columnist with the Ottawa Sun, and a broadcaster with the digital network ichannel.

She has worked with NBC, CBC, TSN, Global (Australia) and Rogers Television and has appeared as co-host of Daytime, a daily show in Ottawa.

She has trekked to Bosnia, Tel Aviv, Egypt, Japan, New York and Nigeria in search of a Canadian news perspective and has interviewed dignitaries, media personalities, athletes and everday people for print and television news. Her interviewees include: seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong; former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell; and Head of the International Comission in Northern Ireland, John De Chastelain.

She studied political science and economics at Queen's University and has acted as consultant to a host of government departments on a range of public affairs and social issues.

She's known for her stamina and tenacity. She was among the best in the world at the Ironman triathlon distance in the mid 90s and was a top-ranked Canadian distance runner.

Lynne likes politics, every sport out there (except ultimate fighting), author Louis de Bernières and spending time with interesting people. She dislikes boredom.
